Town Hall
Butzbach

The aim behind the design was on the one hand to do justice to the location at the heart of the historic old town of Butzbach, and on the other to produce a town hall befitting modern times that was developed logically from inside outwards. The seam between the old and the new town hall highlights this concept.
With regard to cubature – building depth, eaves molding, ridge height and roof tilt the old town hall is referenced and continued. A glass hall forms the point of transition. It enables a view of the historic half- timber gable from the inside. Within the cubature lines of the old town hall, the new building acquires an identity all of its own.
